In order for your domain with the 'www' sub-domain to work, you have to first set up a redirect that would divert all traffics from 'www.yourdomain.com' to 'yourdomain.com'. One free service that provides such service is Easyredir offered by Amazon.
This tutorial would teach you on how to set up an Easyredir account and a 'www' redirect.
1. Go to the EasyRedir website with this link: https://www.easyredir.com/
2. Click "Try for free" at the top-right corner
3. Fill in the Sign-Up form
4. Remember to toggle on the "I agree to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy" option before clicking "Create your Account" button
5. Once you logged in, click "Get Started"
6. Put in the source URL which should be your domain with the "www" subdomain (e.g. www.yourdomain.com) and the target URL which should be your domain without the 'www' subdomain (e.g. https://yourdomain.com) Remember to put "https://" in front of the domain. Click "Create Redirect".
7. Go to your Domain registrar that hosts your domain. Some common registrars would be GoDaddy, Blue Host, Hostgator, and others. Go to the DNS settings for your domain and create a CNAME record as shown on the EasyRedir page.
8. After you set up the DNS with the correct values and wait for a while, the "You're almost done" yellow banner at the top would disappear and the redirect should be successfully set up. Now you can try to type in "www.yourdomain.com" in the URL bar on a browser and check if the domain is converted to "https://yourdomain.com".
